Capacitors in the mains are often used to get rid of noise. At the same time, however, they are highly nonlinear: this is accompanied by dielectric losses that rob the sound of finesse and detail. The same effects occur when using inductors due to their core losses and dynamic limitations.

If you are using a standard stereo system, this can smooth out the sound and make listening more enjoyable. THE CONNECTIONS OF THE STEIN MUSIC POWER STRIP
All connections of the Stein Music power strip are manufactured according to our specifications, so that we can guarantee a perfect sound as well as long-term stability. For the contacts, we have chosen a partially rhodium plated finish, which in combination with the overall design offers a bit more finesse and detail than a gold plated version.

THE WIRING OF THE HI-FI POWERBAR
The internal wiring of the Hi-Fi powerbar is made of the purest copper throughout. All outputs are wired in a star configuration to a central point, and the orientation of each cable is selected for proper directionality.

THE MECHANICS OF THE HIGH-END POWER STRIP
The Powerbar units are built to be very compact and rigid with a three-layer, CNC-machined composite housing. The outer layers are made of a special fiberboard, with the dominant middle layer being a proprietary carbon composite. This construction is extremely strong and torsionally rigid. Additionally, the carbon fiber composite is grounded to prevent electrostatic charging.

The connector bar’s CNC-machined aluminum top plate, which supports the outlets, is mounted on the base housing with a large surface area throughout to prevent unwanted resonance. The feet of the powerbar are solid walnut, a choice we made after listening extensively to a variety of other solutions.

THE SPECIAL FEATURES OF THE STEIN MUSIC POWER STRIP.
The star point ground connection of the power strip is a central point where all conductors are connected by our InLine technology. Here, the vectors of magnetic fields generated while a current flows through a conductor are completely random, i.e. the sum is zero. This eliminates magnetic distortion, resulting in a much more differentiated sound. At this critical point, we also apply a small amount of our proprietary quantum solution. To protect and mechanically quiet this important part, we seal this point with a specially filled epoxy. All wires and connectors are demagnetized. They also undergo another proprietary treatment that significantly increases the mobility of free electrons in all metal parts. This is done in a very complex process that we call plasma treatment.
